There are some basic equipment that all brewer need, this can be home made, store bought individually or bought as complete kit. Before you buy your kit then you need to consider several things.
- Space available
- Your budget
- The type of brewing you want to do
- If you want to progress the type of brewing you are doing.
Some basic equipment can be used for for different types of brewing and can be utiles as you progress, others will not be suitable for the more advanced levels of brewing and will be usless or delegated to other jobs. So if you are not going to waste money on upgrading equipment it is worth deciding on the factors mentioned before making your purchase.
Not many brewers jump into All grain brewing and usually "cut thier teeth" on Extract kits. With a little bit of care you can make sure the kit you buy will grow with you rater than need upgrading as you advance your brewing level.

Standard Kit
Things that are standard requirements across all kits.
A thermometer A hydrometer (optional but advised) A long handled spoon A strainer or grain bag for steeping grains and hops Air lock and blow off tube. Bottle capper, bottles and caps.
Exrtact
You can get away with a fermenter and just about nothing else if you use pre-hopped no boil kits with just a few items from the kitchen. You will get beer but there's not much fun in that. Lets say you want to follow recipes and add your own hops and maybe steep some speciality grains.
