Help Support Homebrew Talk - Beer, Wine, Mead, & Cider Brewing Discussion Forum:

Brewing has been around for thousands of years. Sometimes it's good to learn from the countless generations that went before. Then again, for most of those thousands of years brewers didn't know that beer needed yeast to ferment, which is why yeast isn't mentioned in the Reinheitsgebot.

Of course, traditions, whether they date from the mists of history or the publication of Charlie Papazian's first book, are always open to question. This section contains articles on some of the most contentious subjects that are raised in club meetings and on homebrewing forums.
