When a food is labeled as 'organic' it refers to the methods used to grow it. Organically grown produce is made without using any artificial fertilizers or chemicals- just all natural products. The benefit of organic foods is highly debated- those who argue for the use of organic foods say that it is more natural and has less negative effects on the environment. Those who oppose organic foods argue that the lack of fertilizers places more strain on the soil, causing the crops to use more nutrients and have lower yields.
