I suggest we break the hops list down by country, or perhaps in some other way, so that it's easier to read. Any thoughts? --Torchiest 16:39, 9 February 2007 (CST)

Sounds good --Orfy 12:44, 10 February 2007 (CST)
I'm going to start working on the descriptions of the hops. --Torchiest 15:13, 10 February 2007 (CST)
Cool. What do you think to the format I'm using? --Orfy 15:47, 10 February 2007 (CST)
Looks great. I had something else in mind, but yours is better because it's easier to edit piece by piece without having overlapping edits. I put basic info in for a lot of U.S. hops but they can definitely be improved. --Torchiest 15:50, 10 February 2007 (CST)
Actually, looking at it now, I'm thinking we may want to alter the format a bit. The table of contents looks a bit too large and unwieldy at this point. I just got home from a nine hour shift at the pub, but I'll work on it tomorrow afternoon. --Torchiest 03:49, 11 February 2007 (CST)
Looks good. You can hide the contents. I'm just putting the data in.--Orfy 11:01, 11 February 2007 (CST)
Do you think It may benefit from the picture being reduced in size by maybe 25%?--Orfy 01:12, 12 February 2007 (CST)
Done --Torchiest 01:20, 12 February 2007 (CST)

I created a template for hops information. Cut and paste this code, and change the relevant information:

{{hopStatistics|alphaAcids=%|storage=%|type=|flavor=|styles=|substitutions=}}

Which gives you:

Alpha Acids: %
Storage: %
Aroma/Bittering:
Flavor:
Styles:
Substitutions:

I already added this very table for Cascade. See what you think. I am a little concerned with everything fitting on the page, but at least it's a start. --Torchiest 02:31, 12 February 2007 (CST)

I also tried a much simpler formatting style with another hop variety on the list. I think it might actually work much better. --Torchiest 02:41, 12 February 2007 (CST)

Can we do an alignment so that it sits by the text rather than just allowing text to flow around it. (hope that makes sense. I've done an example for the Pride of Ringwood.--Orfy 02:51, 12 February 2007 (CST)
I've been working on the template, and I think I've got it looking pretty good now. I did two examples for Amarillo and Cascade. Might take the name of the template, as it is redundant. --Torchiest 13:58, 12 February 2007 (CST)
I agree. Orfy 14:15, 12 February 2007 (CST)
I've compressed the template down and taken out the names. What do you think? --Torchiest 15:02, 12 February 2007 (CST)

I've created a new template called Template:HopInfo that gives a little more information on each hop variety; see the Saaz page for an example. I've also been filling in the information on a few varieties.Chapka 10:16, 14 August 2007 (CDT)
